Situated on the outskirts of the historic city of Winchester, Church Paddock Fishery has a one & a half acre spring fed lake set in five acres of landscaped ground. The lake holds mostly rainbow trout with some brown & blues. All fish are triploid & strong fighters, & we replace stock regularly with fish from 2lb to double figures.

The village of Headbourne Worthy is easy to locate,  being about a mile from Junction 9 of the M3, & close to the A303 & A34. We have ample car parking & a fishing hut serving snacks, tea & coffee. As we only have limited rods available, booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

We have been open as a fishery since 2011 when our son Jamie who studied fish management at our local agricultural college Sparsholt, thought it would be a good business venture.

Much work has been done at Church Paddock since then & although it is still work in progress, we are very happy with the current incarnation.

We have a smokery on-site where we produce hot & cold smoked trout, pates, spreads & vistong (smoked, marinated & dried trout trimmings).

The fishing hut

In the fishing hut we provide hot & cold drinks & snacks. We are also licensed to sell alcohol. There is also sell a small selection of tackle, including flies, leaders, boxes, priests, kits etc.

The decking

The decking is immediately in front of the fishing hut & overlooks the lake. On a fine day it affords a fantastic view of the lake & grounds.

The smokery

In our on-site smokery we cold smoke rainbow & brown trout using a variety of woodchip. We also have a Bradley smoker which is used for our hot smoking.
